Meet Dina

Dina Johnson is a dedicated leader and mental health professional with extensive experience across community service, healthcare, and education. She is the Founder, CEO, and President of Monroe County Family Coalition, Inc. (MCFC), a 501(c)(3) organization, and a Marriage and Family Therapist. Dina also serves as a Senior Parent and Family Engagement Coordinator at URMC Golisano Children’s Hospital General Pediatrics and as a Consultant for the University of Illinois School of Nursing.

She is the CEO of DJ Collaboratives, LLC, which provides mentoring and life coaching for young girls and adults, and was recently appointed Co-Chair of the New York State Marriage and Family Therapy Network (NYSMFTN), further expanding her professional impact. Dina earned her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, a graduate certificate in nonprofit management leadership from St. John Fisher College, and a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science/premed with a concentration in psychology from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Dina is actively engaged in research on complex PTSD and has previously conducted studies on substance and alcohol use, dementia caregiving, cardiovascular disease, and women’s oncology. Her work has been recognized with awards, including the Direct Clinical Impact in the Community and the Use of Imaging and Promoting Science, for her role in a research project utilizing a virtual health coach application. She also received the Houghtalen Volunteer Award from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in recognition of her exceptional community service.

Additionally, Dina serves on the NYS Caregiving & Respite Coalition Advisory Committee and mentors at the University of Rochester as part of the Meliora Collective. She has served on the board of directors and chaired the community/HR committee at Partners in Restorative Initiatives for 2 ½ years. In the past, she held the position of Co-Chair, VP of Community Engagement on the Board of Directors at the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources of Western New York, and was an active member of the Mental Health Workgroup for the Racial and Structural Equity Commission. Dina also served as a parent liaison for culturally responsive education at Greece Athena Middle School.

Dina is deeply committed to promoting diversity, inclusion, and equity through collaboration with key stakeholders, local government bodies, and community organizations. As the founder and CEO of MCFC, she is dedicated to providing essential resources such as tutoring for children and families, educational lectures, and mental health services to all residents of Monroe County. Raised by a Baptist pastor and wife, Dina values bridging gaps, fostering unity, and serving underserved and underrepresented communities.

Dina resides in N. Greece, New York, with her spouse and is a proud parent and grandparent.
